The savior complex usually comes from older men who want power over vulnerable, weaker people. Many of these men have experienced deeply hidden traumas they may not realize. Yet, they find themselves attracted to vulnerability in the form of a younger woman.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Some of these men grew up in a toxic family with parents experiencing mental illness who never gave them the total attention they needed. In this case, the older man will look for a younger woman without even realizing it. To feel like they can give that healthy relationship that they could not have with their parents.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
One reason is that the younger person will look at them in a different light because of all they do for them in these relationships. The dominant partner usually controls their spending habits or spoils them while being an older, wiser hero. That is one reason they don’t go for that older, more intelligent woman that’s their age.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
